In mid-June, Nicola Peltz-Beckham took her Chihuahua to a mobile dog groomer. A few hours later, the four-legged friend was dead. The incident now has consequences.
On June 16, Nicola Peltz-Beckham announced the death of her beloved dog Nala on Instagram. “She was my beautiful queen and stuck with me through everything for nine years,” she mourned. She also warned her followers: “Please be careful who you send your dogs to because you don’t know what goes on behind closed doors.”
The actress therefore already had a suspicion at this point as to who might be responsible for the sudden death of her pet. Nicola Peltz-Beckham then made serious allegations against her Chihuahua’s groomer. He had treated her dog shortly before her death. Now the “Bates Motel” actress has even filed a lawsuit.
As reported by the US magazine “People” and others, Nicola Peltz-Beckham is taking legal action against the salon “HoundSpa”. In the lawsuit, the director states that her dog returned from a routine visit to the facility “injured and in severe physical pain”. Symptoms included heavy breathing, panting and her chest throbbing. Two hours after the treatment, Nala died of her “injuries and serious condition”. Peltz-Beckham is now demanding compensation and punitive damages.
Brooklyn Beckham’s wife also claims that the employee in charge has a history of “intentional and malicious mistreatment of dogs.” Since there have already been several complaints against the hairdresser for mistreatment, she accuses the salon and its owner of “reckless and malicious behavior.”
After the appointment with the groomer, Nicola Peltz-Beckham took her dog to a nearby vet. The vet diagnosed that Nala’s “tongue was blue, she had fluid in her lungs and suffered neurological damage.” Despite being given oxygen, the pet died a short time later.
In a statement, Nicola Peltz-Beckham now explains that her lawsuit is not just about Nala. The actress also wants to prevent further incidents of this kind. “I have dedicated most of my life to saving dogs and I cannot in good conscience allow this terrible act to happen to other families,” the 29-year-old told “People”.
