ON BEING A GOOD REFEREE

THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE ROLE
“Decision-making power is a very strong word, which if looked at in the wrong perspective looks like a person of power who wants to impose some decision. In reality, decision-making power is nothing more than a duty, something that must lead you to decide”.
“The decision-making duty is the result of a great preparation and a great knowledge. The result of walking arm in arm between knowledge of the rules and knowledge of sport and therefore the application and applicability of these rules. We are a service to football, we are not people who have power “.
“The referee must not direct the game, he must make the most correct decision and it is not always easy”.
DAZN, FEDERICA ZILLE TELLS TONI HARRIS
American football has always been considered a “men’s” sport, where physical strength, endurance and speed are key elements of the game. Then there are women who instead do not see them as a limit, women who challenge stereotypes and overturn that pre-established order to change things. Like Toni Harris and her dream: to become the first woman to play in the NFL. After falling in love with this sport at the age of 5, Toni does not give up the ball, although she has often been told that the football field was not the right place for a woman. But “if you want a chance you have to be so strong that you can’t be ignored.” This is the philosophy of the girl behind which the spirit of a warrior is hidden.
