The National ⁢Electoral Council (CNE) declared Nicolás Maduro the winner of the ⁣presidential ⁢election in Venezuela, despite the opposition ⁢questioning the results and demanding ⁣transparency in the vote review.

After the CNE president,‌ Elvis Amoroso, ratified the reelection, the president requested‌ “respect for the popular will.”

According ⁣to the announced results, Maduro will serve another‍ six years, extending ⁢his mandate until January​ 2031.

The announcement of Maduro’s victory was​ disputed by the opposition, ‍with leaders​ María⁤ Corina Machado and⁤ Leopoldo López accusing the election of fraud.
