Nicole Rubanovich starts the world championship in weightlifting

Today, the weightlifter Nicole Rubanovich will begin her participation in the World Weightlifting Championship held at an altitude of 2,800 meters in the city of Bogotá in Colombia. According to Rubanovich, she decided to get there only two days before and give her best performance with psychological and mental preparation, despite the difficulty of going down to the pit in terms of immune system and acclimatization in adaptation.

24-year-old Rubanovich, a weightlifter, began her career at the age of 15. In 2018, she was crowned the European Youth Weightlifting Champion. About a year later, she won the bronze medal at the European Championships after swinging 96 kg. Nicole is the champion of Israel six times in a row (2016-2021) and holds 18 Israeli records. Nicole is the first Israeli athlete to win 3 gold medals at the European Championships (2021 ) until the age of 23 in weightlifting, when she achieved a total of 210 kg in push and pull.

Rubanovich, who previously engaged in various sports including: athletics, ball sports, Crossfit said that her family supported her in her decision to turn to the sport of weightlifting which is considered masculine as soon as she decided that this is what challenges her and therefore she chooses to dedicate herself to it, and added that at the beginning of her journey she had no Coach or conditions but only talent and tenacity. Today her husband Stanislav Maznitsin is her personal trainer.
In the competition, she will be accompanied by the coaches of the Israeli national team, Victoria Gelfand and Anatoly Moshik, and she will also receive assistance from the coach of the Georgian national team, Gia Esenidze.

Rubanovich’s ultimate goal is a historic qualification for the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 and she receives a lot of support from, among others, the Herbalife Israel company, which sponsors the Israeli Olympic Committee and the Israeli delegation in the Olympic Games to be held in 2024 in Paris and in 2028 in Los Angeles, and personal sponsorship for Nicole and two other Olympic athletes : Shahar Shagiv (to whom Herbalife has been sponsoring since 2016) and Anat Lalior.
