Dwango will resume services for “Niconico Video” and “Niconico Live Broadcasting” around 15:00 on August 5. They will also announce details of the features provided in the new version of “Niconico,” along with the resumption of premium member benefits.
The “Niconico Video” and “Niconico Live Broadcasting” services had been unavailable due to a cyberattack that occurred on June 8, but they will be revived from around 15:00 on the 5th. Numerous video posting festivals and live broadcasting projects will be held, such as “VOICEVOX 3rd Anniversary Cultural Festival,” “10-Second Video Posting Festival – Niconico Revival Edition,” and “Zunpara Posting Festival Z.”
In the new version of Niconico Video, the video viewing page has been revamped. On the PC version of the video viewing page, the video is placed prominently at the top, while video information and tags are located below the player.
Additionally, whereas previously one had to click the play button on the controller to pause, users will now be able to pause the video by clicking directly on the player whenever they want to stop the video at a specific scene.
The comment list will be placed on the right side of the player, and the playlist will be positioned below the comment list. Improvements will also be made, such as allowing users to toggle the constant display of the controller for a more immersive video experience.
