Police Report 60 Cases Handled in Östergötland County Overnight

The police’s regional command center in Östergötland had a busy night, handling approximately 60 cases between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 07:00 a.m. Fortunately, no major incidents or violent crimes were reported during this time.

One notable incident occurred in Norrköping at 22:55 when a police patrol stopped a vehicle on Sandgatan for a routine check. The driver, a man in his 50s, was found to be driving under the influence. He was taken into custody for further testing and is suspected of serious crimes related to the Knife Act, drunken driving, and illegal driving.

Another incident in Norrköping occurred at 23:11 when the police responded to a reported armed robbery on Dagsbergsvägen. A man was robbed at gunpoint of his jacket, and the perpetrator fled the scene. Although the victim was unharmed, several police patrols were dispatched to the area. A police dog eventually found the stolen jacket on Albrektsvägen, but the perpetrator remains at large. The incident has been categorized as an aggravated weapons offense and aggravated robbery.

The police are continuing to investigate these incidents and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
