The Mayor of Sofia, Vasil Terziev, met with the young Formula 3 driver Nikola Tsolov and his family. He himself shared this on his Facebook profile.
“I had the pleasure of meeting Nikola Tsolov and his family.
The energy and positivity of the 17-year-old Formula 3 driver impressed me a lot, as well as the support of his family in making his dream come true. Sofia Municipality supported this dream with BGN 100,000 and we advertise our tourist portal visitsofia.bg on Nikola’s car.
Last season of Formula 3 was watched by nearly 18 million viewers in 150 countries. Nikola will also participate in various of our campaigns, which gives them a chance to reach young people. Sofia provides the institutional support that the caretaker governments have so far refused. But unfortunately, this support is not enough to cover his entire required budget. The support of a young competitor is part of our program to support professional and grassroots sports in Sofia. In 2024, we doubled the budget for sports programs in the city.
