The Central Council of Velichie, quoted by the party’s press center, reported that Nikolay Markov is not a member of the party. The party stressed that Nikolay Markov did not sign a declaration of membership, did not accept the party’s statutes and values.
“Markov was given a vote of confidence, in view of his civil appearances in the media in recent years, and he was assigned, together with Mihailov, to conduct the campaign part of the election campaign, which they did successfully. During the election campaign, Markov insisted on becoming the chairman of the party, but the statute provided for a long and complicated procedure, which was not possible to carry out during this period. He declared himself the leader and chairman of the party, which did not cause objection from the governing body of Velichie – the Central Council, in order not to harm the election campaign,” the party specified, quoted by BTA.
Earlier today, six Velichie MPs submitted applications to leave the parliamentary group. These are the deputies: Krasimira Katincharova, Juliana Mateeva, Pavlin Petrov, Irena Neginova, Larisa Savova, Rositsa Kalinova. According to the parliamentary rules, the minimum number of people’s representatives to form a parliamentary group is 10. The next paragraph stipulates that when the number of people’s representatives in a parliamentary group falls below the specified minimum, it ceases to exist. 13 people’s representatives were elected from Velichie to the National Assembly.
