The school started the year after a large-scale renovation
Folk singer Nikolay Slaveev gave teachers and parents goosebumps with the song “Petko le, kapitinaine” in the Plovdiv village of Trud. Then he lifted the mood with “The battle has come.” Thus, a patriotic start was given to the new school year at “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” Elementary School.
Slaveev sang to the accompaniment of the bagpipes of the music teacher Atanas Mladenov. Literature teacher Anelia Percheva did not hide her excitement, as she has Rhodope roots.
“Knowledge is power, and power is freedom. Knowledge is a wealth that no one can take away from you,” Ivanka Kirkova, head of the educational inspectorate in Plovdiv, addressed the students. Among the official guests were the prosecutors Rumyana Zaikova-Kaleeva and Dimitar Kostov, as well as the head of the municipal council in “Maritsa” Violeta Hristodulova.
