You exist because Bulgaria has existed since 1300. We are not miserable – you are miserable. Thus, ITN leader Slavi Trifonov addressed the North Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister and Alexander Nikoloski in his post on Facebook.
Here is the full text of Trifonov’s post:
Dear compatriots,
I will quote to you what Alexander Nikoloski said regarding the fact that during an informal visit of the Macedonian President, Gordana Siljanovska, to the Bulgarian President, Rumen Radev, in the photo at the back, behind them, there is no Macedonian flag.
Before I quote him, I will just note that the visit is informal and no one is required to put up any flags. And that during an official visit of the Macedonian Prime Minister to Croatia, there were also no Macedonian flags, only Croatian.
But no Macedonian said anything. And now, to quote the Nikoloski in question, who on the occasion of us Bulgarians, calling us “the host”, says the following, I quote verbatim:
“But since the host is obviously not civilized, if they want, let them send a note of protest to what I say: the host is neither civilized, nor decent, nor respectful, so the situation is what it is. More miserable than they are only those servants in our country who signed that the Macedonian and Bulgarian people have a common history, which they do not have. The same people who agreed with their signature that the Macedonian language is a dialect of Bulgarian and that we will never enter the European Union if we do not recognize that we are Bulgarians and have Bulgarian roots, are now talking about patriotism”. Look what, Nikoloski. I can be very rude, I can even be a big jerk. First, because I can. And secondly, because I have reason, but I will be polite and tell you this:
You exist because Bulgaria has existed since 1300.
You speak because the Bulgarian language has existed for 1162 years. And someone like you can be deputy prime minister, because people like me, instead of doing what they feel and want, are well-mannered, relatively meek and respect the rules and laws of the EU. We are not miserable – you are miserable!
And the Bulgarians in North Macedonia are not servants, but you are a servant – I guess to the Serbs.
The only correct course of action in this situation is to recall the ambassador of North Macedonia in our country as soon as possible.
