Motorists were frightened when a government bus arrived at the Kotagiri hill station after a long stroll on a lone wild elephant road.
A lone wildebeest wandering for a long time on the road in search of food and water in the Mullur area near Kotagiri in the Nilgiris district. Vehicles were traveling from Udagai to Mettupalayam via Kotagiri as the Udagai Mettupalayam road was a lane till the end of the season.
Following this, due to the unusual number of vehicles and the high level of light, the lone elephant could not know where to go. This was followed by a wild elephant roaming the road for about two hours and then into a nearby forest. Thus the motorists were frightened.
