Delhi : A petition has been filed in the High Court seeking the intervention of the Central Government to save the life of Priya, who was sentenced to death in the murder case of a Yemeni citizen. The petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court. The petition is filed with the Save Moment Dear International Action Council. The petition seeks the intervention of the Central Government at the diplomatic level to commute the death sentence of Nimishapriya.

Priya’s death sentence was upheld by an appeals court in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, on Monday, March 7. The moment’s hope is currently in the Supreme Judicial Council of Yemen. The case is being heard by a judicial council chaired by the Yemeni president. But it is only possible to check whether the appeal procedure was correct.

Nimisha is a native of Kolangode, Palakkad. On July 25, 2017, Talal Mahdi, a Yemeni citizen, was killed by Nimisha Priya and hid in a water tank. The court sentenced him to death in this case. The lower court upheld the death sentence, but upheld the death sentence on March 7.

Moment claims that he was detained by a Yemeni citizen and that he killed himself in self-defense while escaping from there. The court was approached for commutation of the sentence on the ground of consideration as a woman and the case of the son and the mother.
