Neena started weaving pictures on cloth just to hang out at Thuravoor Kalathiparam. A combination of interest in painting from a young age and relentless dedication resulted in hundreds of brilliant paintings.
It has been 13 years since Nina started this artistic performance with needle and thread. Will find time for it somehow. There were times when I did not sleep till three in the morning and sewed. Nina says that she spends an average of five hours a day for this. Stitching is done after sketching the photo.
Pallathamkulangara Girishan, the charm of elephant lovers, and Srikrishna and Radha, the lovers, were completed within a year. Each image is woven with great care. Many films like Christu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sachin Tendulkar, Amritanandamayi, Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Farmer Woman, Thrissur Pooram, Kathakalivesham, Dragon Peacock etc. have blossomed in Neena’s handiwork. Images are also woven into the fabric as per the requirement.
Innocent’s image was given in person at a ceremony. Sachin Tendulkar has a dream of giving pictures directly. And the desire to show his paintings to the painter Bose Krishnamachari, who is also an Angamalyan.
Nina always has the support she received from her husband who left her prematurely. The children are Dayal, Dijil and Devi who work in the field of photography.
