Nine people were arrested today in Montenegro, and 19 were charged with trafficking 2.5 tons of cocaine, the prosecutor of the Special State Prosecutor’s Office Vukas Radonić announced, as quoted by the Montenegrin media.

According to unofficial information from the Montenegrin national TV RTCG, it is about the criminal clan “Dreshai”, and one of the leaders of the clan, Viktor Dreshai, is among those arrested. Also arrested were Vaso Ulic, Marinko Prelevic, Petar Miranovic and Vukan Čoković, whose names are known to the Montenegrin police from previous actions.

Victor Dreshay and his brother Leon Dreshay are listed in Europol’s serious and organized crime risk assessment registers as the leaders of the crime clan, which is involved in drug and cigarette smuggling.

The men were caught in a major international crackdown on organized crime that began this morning. The action was led by the Montenegrin Special State Prosecutor’s Office, in cooperation with the American agencies FBI and DEA.

The Montenegrin “Viesti” indicates that most of the clan members arrested today were also arrested earlier in other actions. The Montenegrin police are still looking for Leon Dreshai, Radoj Zvitser, Ivan Delic and Vuk Vulevich, BTA writes.
