The Turin-based company offers 210 wrist and pocket watches of the most famous brands, coming from selected private commissions. The selection includes the Rolex Oyster Perpetual which belonged to the actor from CiociarO, equipped with a black dial with golden writing and unmistakable “3-6-9” indexes. The watch was bought by the actor to celebrate the birth of his second son Luca in 1958 and since that day always worn.

“As if it were a good luck charm, except for swimming in the sea”, says Manfredi’s son, who decided to use the proceeds from the sale in a series of initiatives in memory of his father in the centenary year of his birth.

It was December 27, 1958 when my father decided to give himself a gift while he was out of Rome shooting a film – recalls Luca Manfredi – that day my mother Erminia, who was waiting to give birth to me, she had slipped down the stairs of a beautiful building that had been polished by a zealous doorman and the blow, which fortunately had no other consequences, unleashed her labor pains. The news reached my father, who decided to go into a watch shop and buy this simple but elegant Rolex to celebrate my arrival and the narrow escape ”.

A watch that Manfredi also wore on the set, as evidenced by the film “Per Grazia Ricevuta” which earned him the award for best first film at the 1971 Cannes Film Festival. the Rolex is accompanied by Luca Manfredi’s authentication and from an autographed copy of the book “Un friccico ner core – The 100 faces of my father Nino” published by Rai Libri (lot 210).

Among the most precious pieces of Bolaffi’s collection, the Rolex Submariner 5508, sold in 1964, with box and guarantee (lot 208, starting price 60,000 euros) and the Patek Philippe chronograph in pink gold, sold in 1948 with salmon dial. , model made in only 350 copies, very few of which in pink gold (lot 209, base 42,000 euros).
