Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister, bid farewell to Coimbatore as she departed for Delhi yesterday. Upon her departure, she was accompanied to the airport by Vanathi Srinivasan, the President of BJP National Women’s Team, along with other BJP members.

During a press interaction at the airport, Vanathi Srinivasan shared the significant contributions made by the government in Coimbatore. He stated that a total loan amount of 3,749 crores has been provided through various loan schemes such as Mudra, Start Up India, Business, Home, and Individual. These loan schemes aim to foster the development of Coimbatore.

Responding to questions regarding the meeting between three ADMK MLAs (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Members of the Legislative Assembly) and the Finance Minister, the BJP members clarified that the discussion did not revolve around political matters. They emphasized that the event was a state function, where everyone was invited, and no political programs were organized or discussed. The final decision regarding the ADMK alliance will be determined by the national leadership, they added.

In another noteworthy announcement, Srinivasan revealed that the opening inscription of CITBI Bank in Coimbatore did not include the Tamil language. Addressing this concern, the Finance Minister has instructed bank officials to ensure that the language of each respective town is included in the inscription whenever a bank branch is established.

The Union Finance Minister’s visit to Coimbatore highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting the region’s development through various loan schemes. Additionally, discussions surrounding the ADMK alliance and the inclusion of the Tamil language in banking inscriptions showcased the significance of regional interests and language preservation in the area.
