Another director for Malayalam cinema with her debut film Nishidho. Nishidho’s rank and file activists were honored at the fair by drawing on the life crises of the guest workers. The film was produced by the Film Development Corporation as part of a government initiative to empower women.

Nishidho is a word borrowed from Bengali. The film is about the changing lives of guest workers in Kochi. Nishidho’s director Tara Ramanujan, Kani Kusruthi and Thanmadhananjaya in the lead roles and MD for KSFDC, the producers of the film. Maya and others gave gifts.

As part of women’s empowerment, women directors were given Rs 1 crore each to make films. Nishidho is the first film to be shot under this project.
