In the heart of Naples, the Nisida juvenile penitentiary is transformed into a laboratory of hope and redemption thanks to a solidarity initiative that sees young inmates as protagonists.
The project, the result of a collaboration between the Arav Group’s John Richmond brand and two associations active within the facility, aims to promote solidarity and social rehabilitation through art and craftsmanship.
The first of the two innovative projects is “Nisidarte”, born from the collaboration with the foundation “Il Meglio di Te” onlus. This initiative focuses on the creation of unique jewels, the result of the commitment and creativity of young prisoners.
The objective is twofold: on the one hand, to reveal the latent talent within the walls of the juvenile prison; on the other, to offer participants a way to express themselves artistically, thus promoting their rehabilitation process. Through this project, inmates have the opportunity not only to learn a trade but also to build a better future for themselves.
Nisida Prison: Solidarity Initiative
Alongside the “Nisidarte” project, “N’Ciarmato a Nisida” comes to life“, created in collaboration with the Social Cooperative “Nesis”. This second initiative focuses on creation of extraordinary ceramics, allowing young inmates to immerse themselves in learning ceramic crafts. The emphasis is on the educational value of manual labor that not only contributes to the development of craft skills but also creates a positive environment focused on learning and personal improvement.
