In the first phase, Nistec will produce 2,000 modules worth approximately NIS 3 million. The modules identify the wireless network available in the drone’s environment, and connect through it to the operator

Elcite Company (Elsight) Maor Yehuda signed a production agreement with the Nistec Group (Nistec) for production Thousands of communication modules for drones The scope of the deal is estimated at NIS 3 million. Allcite developed the communication module Halo, which provides drones and unmanned vehicles in the air or on the ground, to operate beyond the operator’s line of sight. (Beyond Visual Line of Sight – BVLOS). The module is based on a modular communication platform that includes an artificial intelligence processor, which identifies the wireless networks in the environment of the autonomous vehicle.

The module detects all cellular networks (including 5G), non-cellular RF technologies and satellite communications (SatCom), connects to the most available network through a secure identification mechanism, and continues to be in contact with the operator, even though during operation it moves from network to network. The company estimates that today it reaches a connectivity level of 98.99%. The company’s artificial intelligence component monitors all available networks at a rate of several times per second, checks their strength and selects the strongest and most stable network at any moment.

The system is able to split the communication into parallel buses that operate in separate networks, and connect them back to receive full communication, both at the operator’s station and at the autonomous vehicle itself. Nistek told Techtime that to date it has produced the first 250 modules at the Nistek North plant in Ma’alot. The production agreement includes an order for approximately 2,000 systems which will be delivered in the next two years. The project includes The production of the electronic circuitperforming electrical tests and assembling a complete assembly for the end customer.

Alsight was founded in 2009 by Nir Gabbai and Roy Kashi, veterans of a technology unit in the Intelligence Corps, and is managed by Yoav Amitai. The company began its journey by developing communication channels for the audio/video field, but changed direction in light of the development of the drone market, and in 2020 launched the Halo communication system. In 2017, the company made an IPO on the Australian Stock Exchange and today it trades according to a market value of about 45.8 Australian dollars.
