Patna: Bihar’s capital Patna is going to get a new landmark. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will inaugurate the newly constructed ‘Bapu Tower’ on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Built at a cost of Rs 129.38 crore, this grand tower is spread over 7 acres. Its foundation stone was laid by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar himself on 2 October 2018, on the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

35 tons of copper layer on the exterior of the building

This tower is made up of two special buildings – one six-storey circular and the other five-storey circular. The special thing is that this is the first building in the country whose exterior has been coated with 35 tonnes of copper. An auditorium with a capacity of 60 people has also been built on the ground floor of the circular building.

Committee formed for maintenance and operation of ‘Bapu Tower’

Nitish government has formed a committee for the maintenance and operation of ‘Bapu Tower’. This proposal was approved in the cabinet meeting on Tuesday. Additional Chief Secretary of Cabinet Department, Dr. S. Siddharth said that this committee will work under the chairmanship of the Development Commissioner.

Additional Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary of Building Construction, Finance, Energy, Urban Development and Housing Department, Art Culture and other departments will be included as members in the committee. The Director of Bapu Tower will play the role of Member Secretary in this committee.
