Aaron Finch and Venkatesh Iyer were the first KKR openers to bat. Chetan Zachariah bowled Aaron Finch for just 3 in the 2nd over. Then both Venkatesh Iyer and Baba Indrajith were bowled out for 6 each, before Sunil Narine knocked out Indrajith and ducked Sunil Narine off the next ball.
Kuldeep Yadav then fell to Shreyas Iyer (42) and Andre Russell (0) off the next ball. Delhi captain Rishabh Pund did not give Kuldeep Yadav a chance to bowl the 4th over as he took 4 wickets for 14 runs in 3 overs. With KKR losing 6 wickets for just 83 runs in 13.4 overs, Nitish Rana, who scored a responsible fifty, kept KKR’s dignity. Rana hit 57 off 34 balls and KKR, who scored 146 in 20 overs, set a simple target of 147 for Delhi.
