Cochin : Liju Krishna, director of Nivin Pauly starrer ‘Padavettu’ has been arrested by the police in a rape case. Kakkanad Info Park police arrested Liju from Kannur on February 6 today on the complaint of a woman.
Liju was arrested by the police while the shooting of the film was progressing in Kannur. According to the police, the woman had helped the accused in connection with the film. With the arrest of the director, the shooting of the film has stopped halfway.

The film is being produced by actor Sunny Wayne under the banner of Sunny Wayne Productions. Liju directed the play Moment Just Before Death, Sunny Wayne Productions’ first venture. Apart from Nivin Pauly, Manju Warrier and Atithi Balan will play other important roles.
The poster for the film was shared by Nivin Pauly in October 2021. Other cast members include Shine Tom Chacko, Shammi Thilakan, Indrans, Vijayaraghavan, Kainakari Thankaraj and Balan Parakkal. There are many newcomers in the cast of the film. The film was shot in the village of Malur in the background of Malabar.
