At the Russian Championship, which became a preparatory start for the Olympiad, athletes from Nizhny Novgorod with musculoskeletal disorders (MSA) won five gold medals. The competitions were held from June 14 to June 21 in Cheboksary.
Dmitry Safronov and Petr Mikhalkov earned two gold medals at once – at distances of 100 and 200 meters. Andrey Vdovin was in the lead in the 100m race.
