Kochi: The first accused Roy Vayalat, who was arrested in the POCSO case related to the No 18 Hotel in Fort Kochi, has been admitted to hospital. His blood pressure was high when he underwent a medical examination before being produced in court.
Meanwhile, Saiju Thankachan, the second accused in the case, surrendered to the police. Saiju Thankachan surrendered at the Kochi metro station. Hotel owner Roy Vayalat, the first accused in the case, surrendered yesterday. The surrender came after the High Court and the Supreme Court rejected their bail pleas. DGP VU Kuriakose said there was strong evidence against Saiju Thankachan and Roy Vayalat. Saiju’s arrest will be recorded soon.
Meanwhile, the probe team sent a notice to Anjali Rimadev, the third accused in the case, to appear for questioning. He was directed to appear before the Crime Branch office in Kochi on Wednesday for questioning. The notice was handed over at his home in Kozhikode. Despite being granted anticipatory bail by the court, Anjali has not yet appeared before the authorities. The probe team has not been able to trace Anjali.
Kochi police have registered a poxo case against Roy Vayalat and others on the complaint of a mother and her minor daughter from Wayanad. A minor girl from Wayanad was taken to a hotel and tried to rape her. Roy Vayalat and Saiju Thankachan are accused in the accident in which former Miss Kerala and others died in a car accident in Kochi. The High Court had granted bail to Anjali Rima Dev, the third accused in the case. It is alleged that Anjali Rima Dev conspired with the other two accused to seduce the girl who had gone to the hotel with her mother. However, the defendants told the court that the complaint was based on a financial dispute with the girl’s mother.
Meanwhile, Anjali Rima Dev has made a comeback on social media. The woman said six people, including some politicians, were trying to trap her and her life was in danger. Anjali Rima Dev says that she is deliberately dragging her name to trap Roy Violet.
Thus the complaint of torture
The mother and daughter from Kozhikode came to the scene with the poxo case against Roy Vayalat. The hotel at No. 18 in Fort Kochi is a hotbed of controversy over the deaths of models in Kochi. Defendants filmed their scenes. They also said that it was too late to lodge a complaint due to fear of intimidation.
The mother and daughter allege that Anjali, Roy Vayalat’s aide, met them in Kozhikode. Anjali invited them to Kochi by offering them a job. They also allege that he was later tricked into arriving at Hotel No. 18 as Business Get Together.
The main allegation is that Roy Vayalat and his gang tried to molest him and his daughter. The complainants testified that they escaped when they realized that the trap was prepared. The investigation team recorded the confession of a minor girl in the case.
Roy Violet, who was arrested in connection with the accidental death of the models, was earlier released on bail. Meanwhile, the new case. Police said there was some evidence that Roy Violet abused other girls in a similar way and hoped more complaints would come.
