Kochi: Anjali Rimadev, the third accused in the Poxo torture case related to the Fort Kochi No. 18 hotel, has been issued a notice to appear for questioning. He was directed to appear before the Crime Branch office in Kochi on Wednesday for questioning. The notice was handed over at his home in Kozhikode. Despite being granted anticipatory bail by the court, Anjali has not yet appeared before the authorities. The probe team has not been able to trace Anjali. Meanwhile, police are conducting an extensive search for the second accused Saiju Thangachan. The inspection was carried out at Tharavad, Kundara and Punalur in Nallaila, Kollam. Pallivasal Anaviratti estates owned by Roy Violet are also being searched.
The arrest of Roy Violet, the first accused in the case and the owner of Hotel No. 18, was recorded yesterday. The arrest was made in a case of sexual abuse of a minor girl. He surrendered at the office of the Kochi City Assistant Commissioner of Police yesterday morning. Roy Violet arrived with his lawyer and relatives. Roy Violet, who surrendered, was questioned by Crime Branch DySP BG George. The arrest was recorded after this. The surrender came after the apex court rejected the anticipatory bail pleas of Roy Vayalat and co-accused Shaiju Thankachan.
