The headmaster of Erode Chinapuram Government School has been sacked for not taking immediate action regarding a sexual harassment complaint.

Thirumalai Murthy, a government school biology teacher in Chinapuram, next to Perundurai in Erode district, has been arrested under the Pokcho Act for sexually harassing 12th grade students. In this situation, the head teacher did not take immediate action on the complaint made by the parents and the students, and therefore the students and parents were involved in the road blockade, demanding the arrest of the head teacher.
