No amount of scoring centuries is going to help Virat as much as pitching; Super star with criticism

Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli is on a quest to find his form. With the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup approaching, Virat Kohli will be able to make a place in the Indian team only if he returns with a good performance.

Virat was rested from the five-match T20I series against the West Indies on July 29. After allowing Virat to rest, BCCI had to listen to many criticisms including from former players.

But there are indications that Virat may also be included in the squad for India’s tour of Zimbabwe, which will be held after six years. India will test the young players in the three ODI series starting August 18.

It is also likely that Virat Kohli will be included in the series which will give rest to the senior players. It is likely that Virat will be included in the team based on the belief that a person cannot return to form just because he is given rest and that he needs to play matches to find his form.

But now, former New Zealand player Scott Styris has said that nothing much is going to happen with the century he gets against Zimbabwe.

Styris said this in an interview with Sports Over the Top.

“He might score a cheap century and that will boost his confidence. But I don’t think he needs to make any significant changes. I still believe that Virat is the main player for India,’ says Styris.

Styris says that scoring a century will give Kohli confidence, but when he faces better bowlers, things will change.

“I think this is Kohli’s losing season. I want to see him back. Ask the coach and the selectors about this, I think they will have some other better plan. I think Virat has a big part in the team’s World Cup plans,’ the player added.

The India-Zimbabwe series will be played on August 18, 20 and 22. The venue is Harare Stadium.
