Mumbai: Poet and activist Javed Akhtar’s court has rejected a non – bailable warrant issued against Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut in a defamation case. The Andheri Chief Metropolitan Court rejected the demand. The court said the case would be heard again on February 1.
Javed Akhtar filed a defamation suit against Kangana Ranaut on November 3, 2020, alleging that his name was unnecessarily tarnished during a TV channel interview. Kangana Ranaut mentioned Javed Akhtar’s name during a discussion on Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide.

Kangana Ranaut last appeared in court on September 20 in connection with a defamation suit. Javed Akhtar’s lawyer alleged that Kangana was abstaining from appearing in the case citing unnecessary reasons.
