No caravan that day, the cameraman will be in the chair next to him; Prithviraj on the early days

Prithviraj is talking about how he understood cinema from the first days he came to the cinema till now. Prithviraj says that he grew up with cinema as he got into cinema at a very young age.

The actor was replying to the question that he has a lot of technical knowledge about the film. In an interview with Surya TV, he talks about his life journey with cinema.

‘I don’t have a clear idea about every aspect of the film. If by the technical side of cinema you mean a new camera, even after learning everything about it, the new camera will arrive in two weeks.

So it is a process that is constantly changing and growing. Learning about the technical side of cinema is seen as just a hobby. It is not a requirement or criterion to be a good actor or director.

No director needs to know 100% how a lens will look on a camera. A good director needs to have an idea of how to tell the story he wants to tell.

I came into cinema at a young age. He was doing films one after another. Unlike today’s times, if a film is finished today, it was like joining the sets of the next film tomorrow. So the whole life was with cinema.

When I came to cinema, there was no caravan. After one shot you will see a chair or stool near where the camera is set on the tripod for the next shot. That’s where it sits. And that’s where all the break times are spent.

All the actors and cameraman were talking about the movie. There was only talk about that.

So from the age of 17, 18, everything I knew, heard and saw was about cinema. After reading about I felt like I wanted to know more about the movie.

I was a very lucky young actor. Because I have been fortunate to work with many very talented and renowned technicians. S. Kumar sir is the first to give me a chance to look at the shot through the eyepiece of the camera.

Back then it was a film camera. That was the first time I knew that a shutter would be hitting in front of my eyes while running. I have learned a lot from so many people. I am still studying,’ says Prithviraj.

The audience is waiting for Empuraan, the second part of Lucifer directed by Prithviraj. Directed by Blessy, Atdu Jivetham, Alphonse Putra’s Gold and Shaji Kailas’ Kappa are the films to hit the theaters with Prithviraj as the lead.
