New Delhi: The railway department said that no change has been made in the ticketing norms for children in trains.
A press release issued by the Ministry of Railways in this regard: Recently, there were reports in some media that the Indian Railways has changed the ticketing rules for children in trains. Accordingly, the news reports that children between 1 to 4 years of age should buy a ticket.
But, that information is completely wrong. Indian Railways has not made any changes in ticketing norms for children in trains. If passengers wish, children under the age of 5 may be ticketed for a separate seat or a sleeper seat.
Those children can travel free of charge if they do not require a separate seat or a sleeper seat. This is stated in it.
