To improve air quality in Mexico City and 18 municipalities in the metropolitan area of the Valley of Mexico, the National Megalopolis Commission has implemented the program Today does not circulate.

Exceptions for holograms 0, 00 and exempt vehicles
Los Vehicles with 0 and 00 holograms, as well as electric and hybrid vehicles, are exempt from these restrictions.They can circulate without limitations, regardless of the color of the sticker or the finish of the plate.
Foreign plates
For cars with out-of-state license plates without a verification sticker, the restrictions are the same as for vehicles with a sticker type 2. These cars cannot circulate depending on the color of the corresponding sticker. Even if the vehicle is new, without a sticker, it will be subject to traffic fines if it circulates during times or days that are not permitted. To avoid penalties, you can apply for a Tourist Pass.
Additional restrictions due to environmental contingency
The Environmental Commission of the Megalopolis has reported that there are no additional restrictions for today, Tuesday, July 2, 2024. However, it is recommended to stay tuned to official channels in case any environmental contingency arises.
