A few days after his appointment to the government and while Aurélien Rousseau refuted any situation of ” conflict of interest “Linked to the functions of his wife, Marguerite Cazeneuve, number two of the national health insurance fund (CNAM), the opinion of the High Authority for the transparency of public life (HATVP) was eagerly awaited. The administrative authority ruled on Tuesday July 25 and ruled that “the deportation decree already requested” by Mr. Rousseau to the Prime Minister, providing that he “will withdraw from any decision directly or indirectly concerning the professional situation of his spouse satisfies the requirements for the prevention of conflicts of interest”.

« The function of the Minister’s spouse is not, in itself, likely to constitute a situation of conflict of interest, insofar as the latter would not have to know of her professional situation.note again the HATVP in its opinion.
Requested by Mr. Rousseau, the HATVP reminds that “the concept of conflict between public interests applies only if the interests in question are not convergent and returns to the nature of the CNAM, a “national public establishment of an administrative nature”, its missions and those incumbent on the general manager of the health insurance fund.
Former chief of staff of Elisabeth Borne (2022-2023) and former director of the Ile-de-France regional health agency (2018-2021), Aurélien Rousseau was appointed to the government on Thursday July 20, during the reshuffle, shortly after his departure from Matignon.
