Bathery: Rahul Gandhi MP has said that the BJP and the CPM believe in violence and both think that violence can intimidate the people and change their minds. The Prime Minister thinks he can scare me if I question him for 5 days with the ED. The CPM also thinks that they can threaten me with violence against my office.
But violence and violence do not change people’s minds. He said the BJP and the CPM were taking the path of violence because they lacked self-confidence. He was inaugurating a rally by the UDF against the anti-farmer stance of the central and state governments on the buffer zone issue.
‘The UDF is of the view that no settlements should be set up in the buffer zone. The LDF and the Chief Minister must stop creating confusion among the people. It doesn’t matter if my office is destroyed. The ball is now in the court of the Chief Minister. He has been chosen to protect the interests of the people of Kerala.
The Chief Minister should take immediate action to resolve the issue. If the LDF government includes settlements in the buffer zone, the Congress will strongly oppose it. The CM should understand that not only the UDF and the Congress but all the people of Wayanad are in this position. Wayanad people cannot be repelled by violence or intimidation. The buffer zone declaration will be withdrawn just as the farmers’ laws were withdrawn by Modi. -Rahul said.
