United People’s Freedom Front General Secretary Thilanga Sumathipala said that the postponement of postal voting was the government’s first shot at democracy after announcing the election.
Thus, if the election is postponed, neither the presidential election nor the parliamentary election will be held.

He said that if the responsible organizations conducting the election say that there is no money for the election, then there will be no election as long as President Ranil Wickremesinghe is alive.
Thilanga Sumathipala said that all the papers required for the election have now been made available and the ballot papers for many districts have been printed.
He said the above while speaking after a discussion between Election Commission officials and political party leaders yesterday (February 14).
