Thiruvananthapuram: There was tension in the special council meeting called by Mayor Arya Rajendran to discuss the letter controversy in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. The opposition councilors took center stage and protested. The opposition staged a protest demanding the mayor’s resignation by hoisting a black flag and chanting “mayor go back”.

The conflict started when the councilors of the ruling party came forward in support of the mayor. LDF defends opposition councillors. Women councilors came forward.

The BJP and the UDF are raising the position that the letter dispute cannot be discussed with the Mayor as the chairman. Both the parties had given a letter saying that the mayor should be kept aside. But LDF This is not accepted.
