Acting Chairman of BNP Tariq Rahman commented that a person cannot be the Prime Minister for more than two terms. He said that to ensure that no one can become a dictator by axing power, the BNP wants to have a provision in the constitution that no one can be prime minister for more than two consecutive terms.
He said these things in a speech addressed to the leaders and activists of Comilla and Faridpur as part of a series of exchange meetings at the Trinamool level on Sunday (September 1).
Tariq Rahman said, with the fall of dictatorship on August 5, new optimism has been added to the expectations of the people of Bangladesh and the language has changed. This changed new language has to be read and understood and the optimism has to be turned into reality, if not, it has to be thrown away.
Acting Chairman of BNP said that till now only Awami League was the open opponent, we understood and knew their attack pattern. Now besides them there are numerous invisible opponents around, their position is dark, they are everywhere. Be careful to face these visible and invisible opponents.

Highlighting the basic issues of the 31-point program presented in July last year, he said, BNP wants to create the grave of autocracy in this country in the future, balance power between the law, judiciary and executive departments, to ensure the representation and participation of the wise men of the society in the governance of the state with a bicameral parliament. Wants to introduce measures, to introduce merit-based allowances for youth and unemployed till employment, to ensure participation of women at all levels. Health, education, agriculture, economy want to bring radical changes in all fields. Wants to build a modern Bangladesh with equal rights irrespective of the plains and hills of religious castes.
He directed all party leaders and workers to take this message to the doorsteps of the people.
He also said that the only basis for the success and popularity of Martyr President Ziaur Rahman and National Leader Begum Khaleda Zia was the genuine love of people from all walks of life in the country. BNP’s only strength is the deep love and trust of the people of this country. This established love of the people must be preserved at any cost, it cannot be destroyed in any way. And if anyone indulges in any misdeeds, no matter how big he is, the party will not indulge him at all, conveying a strong warning.
He expressed hope that if the BNP family is united, it will be successful again as a party like in the past by facing any conspiracy.
