Advisor to the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Supradeep Chakma said that no one will be left behind to build a discrimination-free Chittagong Hill Tracts. We will ensure good governance in the country under the leadership of the Chief Adviser. Before that, everyone should respect law and order.

Hill advisor Supradeep Chakma said these things in a meeting with the members of the People’s Rights Council at the Secretariat of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs on Monday (September 9).

Adviser Supradeep Chakma also said in the meeting of the mountain advisers of the members of the People’s Rights Council that we will work to ensure that the economic, social and environmental needs of the present and future generations are met. We want to build civil unity here against extortion, terrorism and discrimination to keep the law and order situation normal in the hilly areas.

Adviser Supradeep Chakma said, by nurturing non-communal thoughts and maintaining religious harmony, all hill-Bengalis should work shoulder to shoulder for the development of the country. He said that the provisions of equality will be kept between each ethnic group. Pankhwa, Marma, Khumi, Kheang, Bom, Chak, Mro, Tanchanga, Lusai, Tripura, Chakma, Bengali from all communities will be given equal opportunity considering the importance of employment. To achieve that goal, we want to develop Livelihood Development in three hill districts and also build Community Based Society. The advisor said that the government needs to increase its revenue for the development of the country. That is why he called upon all able-bodied people to pay the revenue levied by the government.

Adviser Supradeep Chakma said that the flow of water in rivers, canals and streams will be fixed so that there is no shortage of water in the three hilly areas and ensuring the protection of the environment. More bamboo saplings will be planted in the hill districts than teak trees, said Supradeep Chakma, hill adviser. He said, Khagrachari produces a lot of mangoes, dighinala is producing a bumper crop of quality litchi. We have already started planting various types of trees including mango trees, litchi trees.

We all want to work together to improve the quality of life of the people in the hilly areas. We take decisions based on everyone’s collective opinion.

Mo Rejuan Khan, public relations officer of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, said that during the meeting, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Kangkan Chakma, Member Secretary of Public Rights Council Farooq Hasan, Senior Council Member Barrister Jisan Mohsin, Joint Convener Saqib Hossain, Joint Member Secretary Maulana Arif Billah, Bangladesh Student Rights Parishad. Convener Molya Rahmatullah, Bangladesh Student Rights Council Member Secretary Muntasir Mahmud were present. Later, they handed over their 9-point proposal to the adviser on behalf of the People’s Rights Council. The members of the People’s Rights Council congratulated the interim government and assured the advisor that they would be sincere in providing all kinds of support to the development work of the government.
