On Wednesday (August 21) in the conference room of the Ministry of Agriculture, the heads of departments and organizations under the ministry exchanged views with the advisor. He gave this information during the exchange of views.
The advisor said, corruption will not be tolerated. No recommendation will be accepted for any corrupt person. Farmers are deprived due to corruption. Farmers do not get price for middlemen and dishonest class. The student movement is not only an anti-quota movement, it is also an anti-corruption movement.
He said, quality seeds should be supplied to increase production. The seeds that go to the farmer should be of good quality. If the seed quality is not good, the crop will not be good.
Regarding fertilizer, Jahangir Alam said, there is no problem with fertilizer, but it should be ensured that the fertilizer reaches the farmer on time, and the supply chain should be kept in order.
In the context of mechanization in agriculture along with seeds and fertilizers to increase production, he said, the issue of employment of farmers should also be taken into serious consideration in the field of mechanization.
The advisor praised the work of the heads of the department regarding the agriculture sector and said that if there has been any revolution in the country, the Ministry of Agriculture has done it. The land that used to produce food for seven and a half million people has decreased, but food for seventeen and a half million people is still being produced. This achievement belongs to everyone related to agriculture.
At this time, he ordered the field level officers and employees of the departments and organizations under the Ministry of Agriculture to ensure service to the farmers from their workplaces.
