Kochi: The confiscation action of the Munsiff Court followed the non-payment of the relief money allotted to the person who lost his house in the flood. Ernakulam Disaster Management Department Deputy Collector Usha Bindumol’s official vehicle has been seized by the court. To the court’s question about non-payment, the Deputy Collector said that there was no money and the file was not signed and received. Finding the reply unsatisfactory, the court ordered the confiscation of the official vehicle of the authority. The order has also been forwarded to the Collector. The vehicle should be produced when directed by the court. If further action has already been taken by the authority, the court has the right to conduct the auction in accordance with the rules.

Meanwhile, Saju, who is facing severe financial crisis, had taken a loan of Rs. 6 lakh to make his house habitable. He is hopeful that the court order will help in the coming days. At the same time, there are people who have been ordered to pay 4 lakhs and 5 lakhs without any result. Advocate TJ Maria Neetu, who appeared for Saju, said that they are also preparing to approach the court.
