Muscat: Oman has announced that identity document services will be suspended on certain days in the month of December. The Royal Oman Police (ROP) Department issued a statement saying that citizens and foreigners alike will not be able to access the said services between December 18 and 25.

The ROP Directorate of Relations and Security Information informed that the services will be temporarily disrupted due to the ongoing municipal elections in Oman. Services such as issuing renewed cards, renewing expired cards and replacing lost cards have been suspended. Voting for citizens outside the country will take place on December 18 and for citizens in Oman on December 25.
