Foreign Secretary Md. Prannoy Verma, High Commissioner of India assigned to Bangladesh held a meeting with Jasim Uddin. He said that there was no specific discussion on the Sheikh Hasina issue at that time.

Regarding the discussion in the meeting with the Secretary, the High Commissioner of India said that it was a regular meeting. Part of regular meetings about our relationship. We discussed the security and development of the two countries. We have a positive relationship. We believe that our relationship will contribute to the welfare of the people of both countries.
He also said that India is dependent on Bangladesh and Bangladesh is dependent on India. The relationship of interdependence needs to be taken further.
Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left the country and took refuge in India on August 5 in the face of the student movement. After the formation of the interim government, Dhaka-Delhi relations cooled somewhat on various issues. In this situation, both countries are trying to develop mutual relations along with strategic positions. As a part of this, India wants to speed up the Dhaka-Delhi Foreign Office Consultation.
Regarding the joint consultative meeting between Bangladesh and India, the High Commissioner said, we want to hold Foreign Office Consultation (FOC) soon.
