“I shouldn’t have waited.”
In the latest video posted on her TikTok account, Megan Alexandra Blankenbiller or @atasteofalex, pleaded with her followers not to make the same mistake she did – waiting to get the COVID-19 vaccine – which ultimately cost her the life.
Megan Alexandra Blankenbiller fell ill before she could get the COVID-19 vaccine. He spent his last days in the hospital trying to help others avoid the same mistake.
Blankenbiller died of COVID-19 last month at a very young age after documenting her journey with the virus through a series of short videos. She first announced that she contracted COVID-19 and didn’t know where with a video of herself in the hospital. In the caption, he urged others: “Don’t wait to get vaccinated, go now”.

And the appeal was repeated in an increasingly dramatic way in the other two subsequent videos as well.
In a first video, the girl attacked the totally wrong idea of those who are vaccinated and think that they will no longer be able to contract the virus. Then he explained how the vaccine helps you, in case you get sick, to resist the damage of Covid-19.
In the second video Blankenbiller said he was afraid to go get vaccinated. But in the hospital he was more afraid to hear the “groans and screams of the suffering people” and to see the pain of those who had lost loved ones through the windows.
In her latest video video, the final one, shot from the hospital bed, like everyone else, she said that it was becoming more difficult to talk but she still wanted to share her story: she was not against vaccines but had wasted time in looking for more information and above all she would have liked to be vaccinated at the same time as her family, a wrong decision which she said she regretted.
“I think it was a mistake. I shouldn’t have waited,” he said. “If you are even 70% convinced that you want the vaccine, go get it. Don’t wait. Go get vaccinated because that way, even if you catch the virus, then you won’t end up in hospital like me, ok?”. Too late, unfortunately.
