After quite a few postponements, Maccabi Haifa fans celebrated last night (Thursday) the second consecutive championship. The green players, as expected, joined the fans at the celebrations that took place in the statue plaza outside Sami Ofer – including Jose Rodriguez, whose future at the club is still unclear.
Immediately after the festivities, Rodriguez published a story with a fragrance of farewell and wrote: “I will never have words to thank you for everything, the good audience in Israel.”
Rodriguez ends a season-ending contract after two years at Green. Maccabi Haifa had an automatic option to renew his contract, but the parties agreed to lower the option and enter into negotiations in the summer.
Rodriguez himself is valued by Bachar, as he can play in a number of positions, and Haifa is optimistic and plans to offer him an upgraded contract as published on the sports channel. Are the Greens late? We will know soon. In the meantime, we will stick with the hints of the Spaniard.
