“Panthera”, Noa Kirel’s breakthrough hit, dropped two places last week in the chart of the most played songs on radio stations in Israel, according to data from the research company MediaForest, which provides services for the distribution of musical content, monitoring, recording and analytics of broadcasts, production of reports and playlists, automatic transcription of broadcast media and media research for the music and advertising industries in Israel and around the world.
The two songs that overtook her are by the winners of the last two seasons of “The Next Star”: “Changes” by Tamir Greenberg, who won the previous season, rose from second place to first, while “Michal” by Eliav Zohar, who won this season, jumped from sixth place to second place; Beneath Noa Kirel are her sons Barbi with “Kern Shemesh” in fourth place and “Love like that” by Lior Narkis and Moshe Peretz in fifth place.
The parade of the most bored artists is led, as usual, by Eyal Golan; Moshe Peretz is in second place, with a fairly respectable number of plays for any artist who is not Golan; Sarit Hadad in third place, by a margin not large from Peretz; After her, by a more significant difference, Shlomi Shabbat; And in fifth place Eden Ben Zaken, who leads by only one play over Lior Narkis (who in turn leads by a single play over Noa Kirel).
The most played foreign song in the last week of 2015 was “Hold Me Closer” by Sir Elton John and Britney Spears; in second place “Stay With Me” by Calvin Harris, Justin Timberlake, Halsey and Pharrell Williams; Steve Lacy in third place with “Bad Habit”; Rosa Lynn, who represented Armenia in the last Eurovision with “Snap”, in fourth place; and Harry Styles in fifth place with “As It Was” – although he is actually in a tie with “Pepas” by Faroko, who ranks sixth.
Elton John is the most played international artist on Israeli radio this past week; followed by Dua Lipa; The Beatles in third place; Calvin Harris on the fourth; Ed Sheeran is in fifth place, tied with Britney Spears.
