The president of Ecuador, Daniel Noboahas declared in a decree the existence of a “internal armed conflict” in the country and has ordered the Armed Forces to act against organized crime groups. The decision comes shortly after hooded armed men broke into a television station in the city of Guayaquil amid riots, looting and riots, with executions of officials, in several prisons in the country.
The military intervention ordered by the president occurs at a time when the country is under a state of emergency, with a nightly curfew starting this Monday.

In the decree, Noboa announces that he has ordered the Army “carry out military operations to neutralize” terrorist organizations and belligerent non-state actors”. Cites Águilas, ÁguilasKiller, Ak47, Caballeros Oscuros, ChoneKiller, Choneros, Covicheros, Cuartel de las Feas, Cubanos, Fatales, Gánster, Kater Piler, Lagartos, Latin Kings, Lobos, Los p.27, Los Tiburones, Mafia 18, Mafia Trébol, Patrones, R7, Tiguerones.
The Ecuadorian president points out that he is mobilizing the Armed Forces and the Police “to guarantee sovereignty and territorial integrity against organized crime transnational corporation, terrorist organizations and belligerent non-state actors”.

The measure comes after the chilling images of the invasion of armed men on the TC television channel, in the city of Guayaquil, in southwestern Ecuador. Narcoterrorists have taken cameras and journalists hostage during a live broadcast.
In the images, several hooded armed men can be seen holding canal workers to the ground, demanding that they ask the police who had arrived at the scene live to leave.
Several shots and screams are subsequently heard while the live broadcast continues, during which a hooded man places what appears to be a stick of dynamite in the pocket of a TC television worker.
The Police have assured that in the face of the break-in “of criminals at the facilities of a media outlet in Guayaquil” their specialized units have managed to enter the set and evacuate the injured as well as arrest the narco-terrorists.

In the midst of the chaos, there have also been attacks and riots at the Teodoro Maldonado Carbo Hospitalin the south of Guayaquil, as well as in the Guayaquil University. In addition, looting against businesses has been reported in the center of Quito, as reported by the Telesur network.
