On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, President Daniel Noboa presented to the Council for Citizen Participation and Social Control (Cpccs) a list of candidates for the appointment of the next Superintendent of Popular and Solidarity Economy.
As established by the Cpccs, selected candidates must meet rigorous criteria of suitability, experience and be free of prohibitions and disqualifications.
The shortlist sent by Noboa is made up of Katia Paulina Garzón Alvear, Guillermo Vinicio Jimbo Espinosa and Christina Ivonne Murillo Navarrete, respecting both gender alternation and the principle of interculturality. Each candidate has presented documents that support their experience and merits to occupy this important position.
Currently, the Superintendency of Popular and Solidarity Economy is under the direction of Margarita Hernández Naranjo, who has an outstanding academic and professional career in jurisprudence, international management and leadership, and is responsible for supervising and controlling the entities of the popular and solidarity financial sector in Ecuador.
