Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted at the end of 2021 of sex trafficking of minors on behalf of Jeffrey Epstein, an American financier found hanged in his cell in August 2019, himself accused of raping young girls. A sentencing hearing will be held on June 28.
In February 2022, the former French modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel – suspected of having served as a tout for the financial pedophile network – was also found dead hanged in his cell.

Shortly after the arrest of Jeffrey Epstein, the lawyer for several victims David Boies, quoted by the American media Daily Beast, had judged that the financier was only one of the links in a case which would count many ‘others. “We hope that prosecutors will not stop at Mr. Epstein, because many other people have taken part [à ces activités] with him, and facilitated this sexual exploitation,” he said.
