The tweet said that he was very happy to be selected for the Kerala Ranji team and thanked him for his support. Sreesanth, whose base price was set at Rs 50 lakh, was not picked by the team on the second day of the IPL star auction.
Sreesanth played 44 matches in the IPL for Kings XI Punjab, Kochi Tuskers and Rajasthan Royals between 2008–13. He was selected in the Kerala team for the Ranji Trophy last week.
Sreesanth, who has been out of cricket since 2013 following a BCCI ban, returned to domestic cricket last season. He was also part of the Kerala team for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Twenty20 Championship and Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Kerala’s first match in the Ranji Trophy will be against Rajkot Meghalaya on Thursday.
