Tijuana, BC- Noemí Ramírez is a deaf actress who, at the age of 28, has the goal of bring your art to people with and without hearing impairment to achieve inclusion.

She is part of the Abordo Teatro group and is one of the protagonists of the play Cuéntame (stories that never ends), in which she gives life to a deaf woman who has to live with a hearing man; both must do everything possible to communicate with each other and with the public.

Ramírez shared that through the Mexican Sign Language (LSM) and funny mimicry, he seeks to include himself among the hearing society and that this, in turn, is willing to learn or develop other communication skills.

Deaf people can also be free, with more confidence, more security, living together more and having more communication”, said the actress, who is currently studying in high school.

He recognized that deaf people make an effort to communicate with hearing people because they know read lips, but sometimes they prevent it.

Despite this, he advised the deaf to promote the learning of the LSM and be encouraged to conquer the world.

“Deaf people can do whatever they want, they can paint, beautify, be actors, cook, etc., whatever they want. Do not be afraid, it sets the example that for deaf people there are no impossible things in the future,” he said.

For his part, the actor Yeray Albelda said that the challenge of Cuéntame is that the public, even if they do not know LSM understand the inclusion message.

“It’s very nice, especially when I perform for deaf audiences, since they really appreciate being thought of. There are many interested people but they were not represented Or they thought there was no place for them, but seeing a deaf actress in front of other children motivates them to take workshops, to try to find their way in the theater”, he remarked.
