Cork – Nóirín Moynihan, a beloved figure in the Berrings community and formerly of Knockysheehane, headford, Killarney, passed away unexpectedly on December 29th, 2025, at Cork University Hospital.The news has prompted an outpouring of grief and remembrance from family, friends, and former colleagues.

What impact did Nóirín Moynihan have on her community? She was a cherished member of the berrings area,known for her warmth,kindness,and dedication to her family and former students at St Maries of the Isle Primary School. Her unexpected passing has left a void in the hearts of many.

Nóirín (née Healy) was the dearly beloved wife of Michael Moynihan. She was a loving mother to Damian, finbarr, Evelyn, Adrian, Brendan, and Jennifer, and is predeceased by her son, Míchéal. She is also survived by her sister, Battie, Gerard, Marie, and Sheila, as well as her brother, Patrick, who passed previously.

The family extends their gratitude to the staff at Cork University Hospital for their care and compassion during Nóirín’s final hours.

Her family circle extends to include daughters-in-law Deirdre and Ashlinn, Adrian’s partner Sarah, sons-in-law Ken and Joey, and grandchildren Saoirse, Tamara, Jessica, Michela, Finbarr, Paddy, Paudie, Mìcheàl, Cillian, and Rebecca. She is also remembered fondly by her sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours, and friends.

Lying in repose at Crowley’s Funeral Home, Ballincollig, Nóirín will be available for visitation on Thursday, January 1st, from 7pm to 8pm. A Requiem Mass will be held on Friday, January 2nd, at 11am at St Mary’s Church, Berrings. Following the Mass, she will be laid to rest at St Senan’s Cemetery, Tower.
